Environmental Planting expertise
We are passionate about scaling the growth of the Australian carbon market by increasing carbon credit supply and are primarily focused on accelerating projects using the reforestation by environmental plantings method.
We believe this method maintains the highest integrity, is sympathetic to existing land use practices (farming and agriculture), and has the potential to incorporate quantified co-benefits, such as soil carbon projects, biodiversity, water quality and ecosystem restoration over time.
We are sympathetic to the natural environment, listening and responding to the lessons it teaches us and blend these with tradition and technology.
Reforestation by environmental plantings makes up less than 1% of the Australian carbon market and therefore has the greatest potential to scale and increase supply into the market. Historically, the market price has been prohibitively low to initiate environmental plantings carbon projects and as the market matures with ever growing sophisticated buyers, Covalent is supporting some of Australia’s top corporates to meet their Net Zero and compliance targets by refurbishing rural land through natural carbon sequestration and agriculture integration.
